Messages from a Silent River
Hypha Studios at 1 Poultry/Gallery 2/recessed.space November 7 - December 6th pv Thursday Nov. 6, 6-9pm - 7pm performance by Butoh artist Yumino Seki Messages from a Silent River is a multi-disciplinary exhibition inspired by the lost course of the Walbrook River — once an open waterway in Roman London and now a silent presence beneath The City. The theme provides a lens for the artists of the Ground Collective to explore a range of ideas, from the city’s forgotten past to the urgent realities of the global climate crisis. Conwy, North Wales July 5 -September 28 I'm pleased to be showing a painting at this special venue in North Wales, which showcases the natural world's beauty and diversity and provokes contemplation of environmental issues such as biodiversity loss, climate crisis, sustainability and the importance of nature to our well-being now and in the future. All proceeds from this fundraising exhibition will go to the upkeep and development of Pensychnant and the conservation of its habitats and wildlife. Sluice Film Festival Seyðisfjörður, Iceland May I'm delighted to be participating in both the Expo and Film Festival programmes of Sluice Seyðisfjörður as part of Go-Between Projects (duo consisting of Marie-Therese Ross & me)! We'll be showing our collaborative stop motion film Pangaea Dreaming, which includes a soundtrack composed by musicians Julian Carandini & Lucie Biek. I am very pleased to have received Arts Council funding to develop my practice in 2025. I will use the award to develop silkscreen as part of my painting practice, experiment with printmaking at the Artlab Contemporary Print Studios in Lancashire, visit different artists I admire around the country, and several other things.
