Pangaea Dreaming
by Go Between Projects
a collaboration between Marie- Thérèse Ross & Marcia Teusink
2025-ongoing
Pangaea Dreaming is a stop motion video and installation, created by Go-Between Projects (artists Marie-Thérèse Ross & Marcia Teusink). The piece explores collaborative world-building within the context of shifting political, environmental, and existential terrain. A range of characters both found and made travel through imagined landscapes comprising natural materials, projections of paintings and drawings, and human-made objects. The film reckons with the colonial, extractionist past whilst expressing a longing for kinship and connection with other creatures. The artists’ playful and blatantly handmade approach indicates a love for the sensual and tactile qualities of natural objects and environments in an increasingly the digital age and in the face of AI created imagery. Specially composed music by Lucie Biek and Julian Carandini creates an eerie soundscape whilst nodding to the artists’ sources of inspiration.
Pangaea Dreaming was included in Sluice Seyðisfjörður Expo 2025 as an installation and in the Sluice Inaugural Film Festival (Seyðisfjörður, Iceland) in May 2025.
